As a prelude to the Fondation’s official opening in spring 2014, Van Gogh live! was the point of departure for a series of unique dialogues between contemporary art and the painting of Vincent van Gogh. For this first edition, a number of internationally renowned artists were invited to produce unusual images and performances, as living manifestations of the artistic heritage bequeathed by the Dutch master.
Thus Guillaume Bruère delivered a unique performance exploring the genre of the self-portrait, taking an Arlesian women dressed with traditional costume as a model.
