Sigmar Polke - Beneath the cobblestones, the Earth.
Sigmar Polke (1941–2010) was an artist of extraordinary versatility, an eccentric humanist with a universal mind. Directing his perception toward the earth, art, history and society, he discovered artistic “truffles” in the marginal and discarded. With boundless energy, humour and an unquenchable thirst for freedom, this great experimentalist amazes us through the unexpected interactions he makes between painting and photography.
